8 Months

8 months kind of snuck up on me!

EG continues to wow us every day:

  • She eats like a champ! Including rice puffs and has started drinking out of a sippy cup.
  • She's still working on crawling but on her tummy only manages to pivot in a circle.
  • Is constantly adding new words to her  vocabulary, including "baba". I swear I've heard her say "mama" a few times but not nearly as clear as "dada!".
  • She plays with all her toys and really loves putting a block in each hand and hitting them together.
  • She loves day care and all her new friends. She even had her first Easter pictures there the other day! They took pictures with a live bunny in a basket and Emily's teacher said she pulled the basket closer to her before she was ready to take her picture!
  • When we pick her up from day care in the afternoon, she just lights up. Her new thing to do when she's excited is tuck her head to her chin and flap her hands up and down while making a "aaaaaaaaaaa" sound. So cute and hilarious!
  • Emily also has 2 bottom teeth coming in. It started with just one and overnight the second one started coming through.
The kid has personality for miles. She is constantly tyring to get her hands on whatever Randy and I have, especially our iPhones. This is what happened the other day when I would not give her mine.

Full on baby tantrum.

We love her to pieces!

March Madness

This month has flown by! We've been busy but had lots of fun in the process.

The month started with a work trip for me to New Mexico. I'd never been and was excited to see Albuquerque. I was not disappointed. The landscape was beautiful and the people were friendly.

I had a wonderful time and hope to one day go back and explore more of the area. Randy and Emily had a good time at home while I was gone (four whole days!).  It's always nice to come home. :)

Since then, work has kept us busy and Emily continues to grow! She is so full of personality and such a sweet, smiley girl. Last weekend, I took her to the St. Patrick's Day parade downtown. She loved watching all the people and really enjoyed the music (especially an Irish band). One of the girls in the parade was handing out beads and Emily would not let go once she got her little hands on a pair.  What can I say, the girl loves jewelry!

The month isn't over yet, which means there's more madness to come! My mom will be in town later this month when the day care closes for Easter to keep EG for a few days. Before we know it, April will be here and the countdown will be officially on for our Disney trip! :)

Until next time!

My heart

“The earth is rude, silent, incomprehensible at first; Be not discouraged-- keep on-- there are divine things, well envelop'd; I swear to you there are divine things more beautiful than words can tell.” -Walt Whitman
